Draining of the rack and power steering
I topped off the power steering fluid in May of my 2003 Buick Century that has 82,000 miles on it. Since then there is a noisy low moaning sound when turning 90 degree corners. Now I am wondering if the fluid was too old (it was in an old container that has been sitting around in the garage for a long time) or if possibly someone could have even put old brake fluid in that container.
I have taken some of the dark fluid out and have put new in with a baster, but the noise persists. What is the best way to drain the rack and the power steering so I can get all of the old out of there and put new in?

The best way is with a automotive suction gun (about $6), drain the reservoir and then refill until the fluid is clear, but from past years of many such noise concerns coming through the shop u will end up replacing the power steering pump.
