Dremel 10.8V cordless model 800 (8000) The speed is stuck on the high setting (variable doesn't work now) and battery lights no longer work. I'm assuming its the switch and now needs expensive repair. Only used once every three to four months
You are right,it will need a slider switch replacement,But first-is it still under warranty? If it is call the costumer support on their 1-800 ...number.If not you could DIY it.Opening the drill is not that hard and as long as you observe the proper orientation and where every wire is connected to,you will be able to disassemble the unit.Inside you could see where the slider switch is connected and how it is positioned.Usually the surface of the switch is burned out and this you have to replace. The next problem is locate the part number it is usually found printed under the slider part. And the next big thing is to order the part and where to order it.Consult the user manual that came with Dremel unit and the ordering address is there.
