Try deleting it from the Device Manager and rebooting. If Windows has eaten the driver, it will try to reinstall it during the reboot. Follow this sequence:
- Start - Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device Manager
Locate the entry for DVD/CD-ROM Drives and expand the listing. Highlight the drive(s) and delete them.
If the Plug & 'Pray' is working, Windows will 'find' a new device and install the basic drivers for it.
