dvdrom light is blinking all the time
The cd/dvdrom light is blinking all the time of my laptop..and its not reading any kind of cd..or dvd..eject function is working properly..please help

Check first under my computer/computer if you can see the DVD/CD Rom drive. If not detected, follow the steps on this link...

It should work fine after reboot.

You might try to use a cd lens cleaner. I believe the drive is having a hard time reading any disc that's why it keeps on blinking.
It all leads to hardware failure unfortunately, If you're in warranty, contact Compaq to have the drive replaced.
