To check the SSID, open a browser and type this in the address bar: 192.168.0.1.
Select Admin on the drop down button, then by default just leave the password blank.
Once on the setup page, go to the Wireless Settings tab. Make sure that Enable Wireless is checked and the Visibility Status is set to Visible.
Take note of the Wireless network name. This is your SSID.
If wireless security is set to WPA or WEP take note of the pre-shared or network key.
On your wireless computer, make sure that wireless card is installed properly. If it has it's own utility, you should be able to see the wireless network name in the Site Survey (wireless network list).
