Do NOT use it indoors. If it's burning your eyes it's carbon monoxide from an inefficient burn and it will kill you. Kerosene flow is not working correctly. Cannot diagnose without examining. I'd recommend taking it thoroughly apart and cleaning all parts (especially internally of parts... anywhere kerosene flows). You can use "Brake Kleen" (or any brand) from an auto parts store. It evaporates quickly and leaves no residue.
