ECU Question for a Monster s2r 800
If anyone could help me this would be great! I bought an 05 monster s2r 800 from a guy. Originally I wasn't going to purchase the bike because he only had one black key for the system. I told him I'd buy it if he replaced the ECU. So he did. I road it and checked it out. The ECU seemed to have no problems as far as I knew. It did stall frequently and didn't ride smoothly so at the time of purchase he took another $300 off. I bought it...took it home...and it still continued to stall and not run great. When I took it to the dealership they informed me that the ECU was not for a monster at all but for a multistrada. They suggested I replace the ECU...but I really don't have the money to do that. Will the multistrada ECU be a problem for this bike? Any insight would be great.

I'm pretty sure the multi was never an 800. Def cause for a lot of problems. You could bandaid fix the situation w/ a custom dyno-tuned pc3, starting w/ a map from a multi.. It would end up costing you around $500-600 all said and done. perhaps it's time for a DP ECU specific to the S2R 800. good luck
