There are two starting procedures - initial starting after long storage or running out of gas calls for squeezing the bulb (note - squeezing the sides together - not pressing the bulb in) 6 times, poulling cord up to 10 tiimes, rapid pull. If that doesn;'t work, wait 15 minutes, do not press bulb, but pull cord 10 times again.
Normal starting after first use and w/gas in the tank calls for 2 presses of the bulb.
I found that I was not priming the engine well, but also it should not be as much of a pain as it is. I still am successful in starting on every third attempted use, get frustrated and say %*&% it most of the time. These things are made by MTD (for Troy-Bilt) and that, in my experience, stands for Machine Typically Dead.
Should also mention - bulb pressing or squeezing should result in your feeling resistance as the gas is pumped. If that's not happening, you are not priming the engine. I just tried the above after emptying the gas tank and gas lines, priming by squeezing, and it started after a few tries. Had to use an extra 3-4 squeezes after initial sputter on first pull of cord.

99% of the time, no-start with a small engine that's been sitting is the result of bad or stale gasoline. Thus, before wasting time doing anything else...
Take a teaspoon of fresh gas and pour it directly into the carb throat. Give the motor a couple of good pulls and see if it fires off even the slightest bit. You may have to do this 2 or 3 times, but all you're looking for is either a puff of exhaust or an audible firing. (Uhhh... Make sure the key, if equipped, is "ON". )http://handymanwire.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/626301/Troy_Bilt_tiller_won_t_start
I lost my manuel and can't find out how to put the edge blade on my Troy Bilt Cultivator/Edger. I've done it in the past and I know it's not hard, I just haven't done it in a long time and can't remember how to do it.

Hope this helps.
