Your firewall may be attempting to keep out an intruder and inadvertently killing your connection to aid in the process, if you're using a shared Wireless Access Point or WAP there may be a conflict which is causing the problem whenever someone else logs onto the wireless access point. is this an access point that is close to you (in the same room or building) or is it an access point that you share with a group of people that is coming in from outside your immediate area? because if it is either the second scenario it may be weak signal strength in which case you'll be able to tell simply by getting closer to the access point and see if you lose your signal, if you don't lose your signal after getting closer to the access point you'll know it's the signal strength and you may need to get a stronger wireless card or see about extending the range on the one you have.

Sylvia, this is a quote from Judy Chang a support team member over at edimax:
"Hi, James:
This seems an odd problem.
How long did your customer have the BR-6204Wg router? Did she have such problem before?
If she purchased the router for a long time ago and just recently happened the problem, I guess you can suggest her to a factory reset. Login to the router's page -> Tools -> Configuration -> Factory reset. However, by doing so, all the settings (like wireless SSID and security) will be erased. She will need to manually configured again.
If she just recently purchased the router, may I suggest you do the firmware upgrade in BR-6204Wg router.
Here is to download the firmware file v1.59
I'll consider this closed.
