E....How do I remove the European tone signal?
I'm new, so be patient. Folks that I talk to on this Handi tell me that my European tone gizmo is activated. They hear a beep and then just part of my transmission because I didn't wait 5 seconds to start talking. VERY ANOYING! I read and re-read the manual, and still cannot figure out how to remove this "Feature".

You have the WIRES function turned on. It sends a short tone at the beginning of every transmission. Press the "0" and "set" key to disable. The little atom symbol in the upper right of your display should turn off when it is disabled.
