Several things can cause this; please check these items... (first assure it is unplugged and cool) remove the lid and artificial coals and all loose parts, examine the heating element for any cracks and or breaks in the surface of the element, now check the wires to assure they have not melted, check the plug to assure that it is not damaged. Finally check you GFI outlet you use. One of these items are surely the problem, replacement parts are available. I'm sure you can fix it!
