Electrical output requirement for a buit-in oven and cooktop
I am upgrading my kitchen and would like to replace my actual electric range by a Whirlpool built-in oven and a ceramic cook top. Presently the is one 230V outlet for the range. Will I need to get a separate electrical outlet or can I join the oven and the cooktop electrical into the one existing outlet?

Providing the existing switch outlet iscontrolled by a 30amp circuit fuse or trip, then there is no problem connecting the 2 appliances to the same switch.
If on the other hand, it is controlled by a 13 amp breaker, then you cannot connect both appliances to this, you would have to use 2 seperate sockets.
Hope this clarifys your question.
THE POWER SUPPLY TO THE APPLIANCES WILL BE 240V BUT MAKE SURE THE POWER TO THE HOB CARRIES 35AMPS OR YOU WILL BLOW THE TRIP SWITCH. THEY PULL LOTS OF JUICE AND THE SAME WITH THE OVEN IF ITS A SINGLE OVEN YOU WILL BE OK BUT IF IT IS A DOUBLE OVEN YOU WILL NEED ANOTHER 35 AMP RATED POWER SUPPLY..
