Electrict roof warning light aluminates and roof won't rase
( Bentley GTC) This is an intermitant fault and it only affects the roof going up. When I push the switch to raise the roof the roof fault warning light comes on and the rear windows move but only very slightly, and the roof won't raise. It seems that the windows may have gone out of sink in some way, however if I leave the car standing for a while and then lower and raise the windows in variouse sequences this sometimes sorts the problem in the short term. I am abroard at the moment and my nearest dealership is more than five hundred miles away so any light you can shead on this one would be much apreciated

The problem is most likely a faulty micro-switch, on the driver's side, under the tonneau cover. Unfortunately, it's impossible to accurately diagnose without a Bentley diagnostic computer, which will have to be performed at a Bentley dealer. As for the windows, the proper way to program the "one-touch" windows is to start with the front. Fully raise the front windows, release the switch, then hold it in the up position for a few seconds (you will hear the door module/window motor click) then fully lower the window, release the switch, and hold it in the down position for a few seconds. This will program the front windows, now do the same in the rear. Low battery voltage will usually cause the windows to lose their programming. You should have the vehicle attached to a Bentley battery tender whenever it is going to sit longer than a few days. The vehicle has 2 batteries, one only starts the car (right-side/start battery), the other (left-side/main battery) runs all of the electronics. Most people think, as long as the car starts, the battery is ok. That is not so with these vehicles. The car will start, even if the main battery is totally dead, or vice-versa. The installed battery tender attaches to the main battery, and comes with a neatly installed wiring harness, and a AGM battery approved battery tender. This will help avoid many different annoying electrical malfunctions.
