Success....Error 11 on Electrolux dishwasher?
I have an Electrolux EWDW 6505 which in the start of a wash cycle would start beeping and Error code 11 would display.
The problem: Drain Valve (Small copper lever switch inside)
Solution 1.
1. Kill breaker to dish washer.
2. Pull dish washer out from under counter. (If you open door, usually held in by 2 screws above door that are screwed in under counter top.
3. Tip washer onto its back side.
4. Remove ss front plate below door(Held in with 2 screws).
5. Remove white cover plate from bottom of dish washer (held in by 3 Phillips screws)(TO REMOVE - Pull from bottom front of dish washer then slide towards back of dishwasher).
If the washer is laying on its back, the drain valve is located at the bottom left side of the machine (Closest to the floor).
6. REMOVE THE DRAIN VALVE -

A. Remove the electrical connection to the Drain Valve by pulling
it out from plug like harness socket.

B. There are two star (T-20) head screws holding the drain valve
on. Remove them from the bottom and pull the pump down
and away from the Dishwasher to remove it.

C. There are two hoses connected to the drain valve.
One is held on by a metal screw down clamp fastener.
(just turn the screw counter clockwise till lose then slide hose
off.)
The other is held on by a spring band type fastener.
(Just compress the ends together with pliers and slide off.
7. SEPARATE THE DRAIN VALVE-
If you look at the valve, the top is white and the bottom is
black. There are white tab like structures extending over the
black part of the unit. This is where you want to separate the
unit very carefully. If you bend them too much they will
snap off or crack. You want to easily and Gently lift and
wiggle them away from the black hook like stops. The unit will
then begin to separate. BE CAREFUL, THERE ARE 3
PIECES TO THIS HOUSING.
A. Remove the white part and set it aside.
B. Look at the black side under the housing. Here is where
you will find the PROBLEM. There is a blue lever that sits in a stem under a copper arm. When the DRAIN VALVE rotates in normal operation it presses on the blue lever causing it to press on the copper arm, which makes contact with the other copper side and closes the circuit. As the Drain valve continues to rotate, it releases the blue lever WHICH SHOULD SPRING BACK AND OPEN THE CIRCUIT AGAIN.
NOTE: (Try not to separate the two black pieces while doing this or you will see the gears maybe pop out and two copper springs and motor. NOT A BIG DEAL IF IT HAPPENS. the 3 gears will fit together on their stems, the springs both slide one into each hole, the botor goes on top and the two arms come in contact with the springs)
C. THE FIX - LOOK at the blue lever. Right above it you will see a copper arm. Touch the Right side of the arm (where it is connected) with your finger and pull it down in the direction of the blue lever (ever so slightly just to give it its springiness back. so now if you emulate pushing up on the blue lever and release it, the copper arm should make contact with the other copper side, then, spring back on its own. (IT IS NOT FIXED UNTIL IT SPRINGS BACK ON ITS OWN) so adjust the copper arm accordingly.

REVERSE steps above to reassemble the washer.

Hello Gene Skates - Typically error code E11 indications that there is an issue with the drain valve, possibly the main control board is timing out before receiving status of drain valve. This is typically not a DIY job and strongly recommend contacting a professional to check the wiring between the main control board and drain valve since you have already replaced the drain valve.
