Engine problem motor would not turn over. broke engine apart piece laying in sump (according to parts diagram) looked to (maybe)be part of the camshaft although the camshaft is suppose to be one solid piece. any ideas?

IS IT A KOHLER? thet have been having problems with a thin metal part coming loose. some thing to do with vibration control I think
