Error light won't go off Similar to the first post here, the printer started to print out a large document (my mistake) when I only wanted one page of the document; when I realized my error I stopped the printer by switching it off... in the middle of the print job. I cleared the paper jam and when I switched it back on the error light started blinking; nothing I do (if had it almost completely apart) will make it stop blinking or come back on line! Does anybody have any insights into this problem? There does seem to be a pattern to the blinks just a regular semi fast blink
Check the paper flag sensor and make sure it is not missing or misaligned (refer to your printer manual for its location.) If error persists, you’ll need to take your printer in for repair. If the paper wrinkles on the end, you probably have a bad paper out assembly. You might try to clean the inside (especially the rear rollers) and replace the paper. If the paper still wrinkles, the paper out assembly is most likely bad. Sometimes a bad fuser can cause the same problem so don't rule this out.
Try doing this : Disconnect the printer from the computer and try printing an internal test page. Press and hold the power button, press the paper feed button, and then release both buttons so you can make a test page..
If the test page prints, restart the computer, then reconnect the printer and try printing if it doesn't do a test print there can be a some foreign object inside the printer that you may need to check..
Due to the cancellation of print in between the printer normally throws out the remaining page and gets back to correct its gear setting for the next job, but some times it happens that printer cannot correct its gear settings .in that case you will have to reset the printer by keeping it OFF for atleast half an hour.even after that if it does not solves the problem then you will have to open the printer and unplug the carriage cable and front panel cable for a minite and replug it and close the printer again.it will definately work properly after that.
