I just installed thie newest System Mechanic Pro, and it will not run with the message "iolosystemservice" is required to operate and could not be started. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it twice, but it will not run. I used the Iolo website, but could not find an answer there. Can anyone please help me.

I have the same issue where ioloSystemService is required... on a 64bit Vista Home Premium system. Iolo Tech (NO) Support's solution is for me to pay them another $200 dollars so their Certified Microsoft Systems Engineer can look at my system (no guarantee it will work after he looks at it either) or take it to Best Buy, Geeksquad, or Staples and pay them $300 dollars to look at it. It's a shame because I have been using their product since the first beta version. I guess they have just gotten too big for their own good because they sure do not care about the customer.
bk48ga You are very right but I was experiencing the same issue when one of the online service provider team fixed it for just $100 and it was a guarenteed fix.
You are nuts, iolo system mechanics works just fine on my lap top which has windows 7 and it also worked just fine on my desktop which has windows vists but only started having problems starting it after adding 2 gb of memory to my desk top, now it says system mechanic service is not working properly, even after a fresh install!
This program will not run on Vista or Windows 7 despite the claims by lolo. This product is absolutely inappropriate for the novices and beginners: the installation process will install everything (e.g., main tools, firewall, etc), automates many of the tasks, and essentially will take over, regularly carrying tasks that are unnecessary, CPU-demanding, and can cause many error prompts. Given the poor (and essentially non-existing) customer services, the beginner user
will be on his/her own to uninstall, disable, or to live
with the annoying, and sometimes scary responses (e.g., indicators showing absolutely poor "health", "security" and "overall" status). If you want an effective program download RegCure.
Have you tried AVG? It is a very effective virus program. I use this and RegCure and find they work well.
I have been using Iolo SM Pro on Windows7 in the last 3 years and never got any problem. The fact is that SM must be left alone in the computer without addig any other security software which may conflict. The problem is not SM, is the user.
