It's OK to express frustration on the call; but in general you will find they will go out of their way to help you if you mention a few times how much you LOVE your Apple products. And if this is your first Apple product, just let them know how excited you are to become an iPhone customer.
Tell them your story, like, we've had a lot of medical bills, so I was excited to find a 4s I could afford on eBay . . . and so on.
If you don't initially get the help you need, try a different work-shift time of the the day, like evenings, or late night.
