It sounds as though the evaporator coil is needing to be cleaned. Also make sure your air filter is clean and properly in place. A dirty air filter and/or coil will decrease the amount of air passing through the evaporator coil. This will cause the coil to develop frost and sometimes ice. Most humidifiers are equipped with a defrost function that normally allows for the fan to continue to run while the compressor is shut down for a brief time to allow the coil to thaw. The result is water. The debris is an indication that contamination exists. Clean the filter and coil and you should be fine. :-)
