The 2006 Kia Optima Exhaust Flex pipe has connection points on each end of the section. Unbolt these (4 bolts) and either either replace the flex pipe of use the repair kit which only cost about $7.
I have seen a lot of muffler shops or reg shops just weld that thing together to stop the leak, because it does wear out fast, it is a flex joint, I think to replace it it, you have to get the whole section of pipes, crossovers, etc, whatever you have under there. Hope this helps.

Yes,it will have to be replaced,it is a flexable pipe.
