Extenced Display Identification Data from Monitor's DVI Port is Incorrect
My new SyncMaster 245BW display maxes out at 1280x1024 @ 75Hz when it should be set to 1920x1200. I bought it refurbished, so I have no recourse to Samsung. Also, I would much rather just flash the monitor with the correct EDID data than go through the hassle of sending the monitor back and having to shop for another one, or exchange for another refurb with the same problem. (I suspect the first buyer sent it back because of the resolution issue.)
Anyway, I have a software tool called PowerStrip that can handle the flashing part. I just need to know how to turn off the write protection on the eepron chip. It would be icing on the cake if I could get the correct edid data in hexadecimal format, so I could just flash it in. However, I will settle for getting the right values so I can make the hex file myself. Any help will be much appreciated. I will include the errant edid values below for reference. Also worth mentioning, I have an ATI Radeon X800 video card, so more than sufficient to drive the display at full resolution,
