External hard drive enclosure
I have a nexxtech external hard drive enclosure that i put a maxtor 20 gig hard drive into,but everytime i power up the external srive it reboots my system and continues to reboot in a loop until i turn the power off.
i have tried placing the jumper in all of the settings it doesnt change anything, is there something i am missing???

asrock mobo-pentium D 3ghz-2gigs dual channel pc3200-windows xp pro- 160 gig and 30gig internal drives- 500 watt power supply.

I too purchased a Nexxtech Hard Disk Enclosure and my Vista-based computer keeps telling me to try a USB 2.0 setup...the USB's ARE 2.0...did you try the setup disk that came with your unit?...I tried on mine but still a no go...I may have to return it to Best Buy & try somrthing different.
A follow up to the previous post...I set the jumper on the enclosed HD to "master" and everything is working fine now.
