Thank you for replying with the model number. It sounds like the pump may havebecome clogged in the washer pump filter.
I would first suggest you havea lookat the pump yourself unless you don`t feel comfortable doing so, then calling a service tech might be the best avenue.
Here`s how to inspect it...yours may differ slightly, but if it is indeed a bosch clasixx6 1200...these instructions will apply.
1) **Turnoffthe power or unplug the cord from the dryer or wall...whichever applies to your set-up...safety first**
2) Water removal...remove toe panel. There you will find a small hose with a plug in the end for draining the pump.
3) Now bleed pump drain...A shallow pan is handy for this step.
3) remove pump filter, but be careful if you don't have a shop-vac or af21keeps flashing.clothes won't spin.f21 still fla - c00cf70.jpgn and towels you may get wet...
*Once you`ve reached this point you may have trouble removing the filter if it is really plugged up with debris. You might have to wiggle it back and forth as you twist and pull.
4) When you get the filter out, visually inspect inside the pump thoroughly with a flashlight and clean it out really well.It won`t take much to prevent these from draining. i.e. a penny, hair pin, buttons etc.
Let me know if you found anything in the pump and how you make out after that.
If you removed any obstruction, simply reassemble the unit making sure the filter is screwed in tight, unplug the unit for approx. 20 mins (you may have accomplished this in the time allowed to clean the pump so it may sound redundant, omit if so) run a quick rinse cycle to test for leaks before putting the toe panel back on and you should be good to go...save for any leaks.
There are other possible factors like a pump motor, that can prevent the unit from draining or spinning out items properly, but we`ll cross that bridgewhenandifwe get there.
Thank you for choosingFixYa, keep me posted on your situation.
Thanks again for keeping me informed, in light of the solution not working. Sorry to hear the initial suggestion didn't have any positive results.
I have to admit even though I work on a lot of Bosch, I do not see this model much nor am I familiar with this error code of F21 on these units...if ever to my recollection, hence my uncertainty about the F21 error in the beginning.
Having said that, I pulled up some info from my service manuals and there actually is a description of this error code and it is as follows.
According to Bosch the F21 is actually displayed when the control detects a problem with the motor or the PCB itself, though they mention it can be caused by voltage spikes/surges and the like as well.
I'll post the suggestion they laid out in the tech sheet, but I will give you a heads up of needing to sometimes try this procedure three, four or more times before it will respond...if at all.
Ultimately it can be caused by a faulty motor or PCB (the PCB being least likely), but I would certainly suggest trying the method Bosch explains here first.
1) Turn the appliance knob to the off or reset position, 12 o'clock. 2) Turn the knob to the 6 o'clock position. 3) Press and hold the spin button. 4) While holding the spin button, turn the knob to the 7 o'clock position. 5) Continue holding the spin button for about 5 seconds. 6) Release the button. 7) Turn the knob to off. 8) Turn the unit back "ON". When your turn it back on it should have cleared the error code.
As I mentioned (I'm just a messenger to what Bosch has explained here please keep in mind) if this does not clear the error after several attempts, you'll need to check the motor...(possible the fuse in the motor) or worst case scenario the PCB has failed.
If you're up to it and this fails, you can check the motor from the control board via an ohmmeter or multimeter. Here's how...
1) **Unplug the unit from the wall or turn of the power to the machine...safety first**
2) locate the pin connector on the control board as shown here...
3) at thee points on the connector, you should find ohm values shown here...
This will/should indicate if there is truly a fault at the motor or not, if not, the failure is within the PCB as I mentioned. Make sure you make good contact with the connector inside the harness to insure a good meter reading.
Please keep me posted as to what you find or if I can assist you in any manner going forward and I'll certainly help in any manner I can.
Thanks again for choosing FixYa. Good luck.
