Hi, it seems you got a connection problem. Here are some tips to check it: 1. Make sure the phone line in the wall is working. There should be a dial tone if you connect a regular phone device in that. 2. Check if the telephone cable that you're using is in good condition. 3. Telephone cable from the wall/splitter must be plugged in to the Line port behind the printer. 4. Make sure that it's the correct fax number assigned in the printer. 5. If all is ok but still having the error, try plugging the printer/fax straight to the wall jack bypassing the splitter. Hope this helps.
