feedback noise when transmitting from a Kenwood TK-3230 to a TK-3400U4p
The noise is there when the volume control on the TK-3400 is set to 1/4 or above. The noise continues for a distance of 15 - 20 feet. I don't get the noise when transmitting from the 3400 to the 3230 or when transmitting from the 3400 to anothe 3400 or from the 3230 to another 3230. Any ideas? Could it have something to do with the switch to narrow-banding or possibly the increased output of the speaker on the 3400 over that of the TK-3300?

If you're close enough to hear the receive on one radio while transmitting on the other, it's good old-fashioned feedback. Turn the volume down on the receiving radio.
