Fellowes Shredder C-220 (Auto-on sensor is blind = no shut-off)
Problem: Auto-start sensor is ''blind.'' If fed paper in "Auto-on" mode, it runs continuously until I shine a bright light down the paper entry and then it stops. How do we correct this? [Already went to ''trouble shooting'' web site. Already do the oil maintenance on the machine.]

OK lets try.
You obviously have a photo sensor that detects the paper and it is dirty.
The sensor will be in the proximity of wher you are shining the light.
It is likely covered with paper dust (hopefully only on the outside)
Locate the sensor and wipe it off or just wipe the entire throat area.
