Fiat Ducato temperatutre When putting the engine under pressure ie. going uphill the temp. needle moves from one increment below midway to one above midway, is this normal or do I have a problem

Yes that is perfectly normal and is a result of the increased load on the engine. If the engine is running to hot an warning light will come on.
