Finding the exact model number and manual for my MB
Finding the mb # and rev?? My MB says Processor Board Designed by Compaq Houston, TX The only number I can find on the board is very small.... G1I2N3A4 and under the processor mount is: SP# 283983-001 DG# 261982-000 AS# 261981-001 P58B40R9VO9B2N rev - 0R Compaq 2001-2002 I forgot to mention that the puter won't boot. It is a friend's and he tried to put PC133 memory in it and now the good stick of memory isn't reading either. I get 1 long and 2 short beeps and NO video when trying to boot up.....So, I was trying to ID the motherboard to find out what a replacement would cost.....I don't have another stick of DDR to try in this machine....so I am not sure if it needs a new MOBO or just another stick of memory......It is a work in progress......LOL Thank you very much for your reply :)

Hi there.
Is this your board>>>>>>>
If so they are not cheap to replace, about $150+ , you may get one second hand a bit cheaper, maybe $60-80
You mentions it beeps, the beep codes described is a Video (Mono/CGA Display Circuitry) issue
this can be memory related, so take out the main power supply (the power cord) and the motherboard battery for an hour, then put back in the memory, the battery and then the power cord and try to boot up.
Post back if you need help.
Good luck
well the thing is with that is its an OEM board (original electronics manufacturers). Company's like HP employ/pay other makers to put their name on the boards, hence Compaq being the name.
this number identifies the board >>>>
SP# 283983-001
DG# 261982-000
AS# 261981-001
The SP-Number is the SPARE PART number of compaq. use this as an sufficient number to exactly identfy this board.
