Fisher&paykel gw712 washes but wont spin and drain
Hi. My fisher & paykel gw712 fills and washes ok but stops when it comes to rinse. After about 5 minutes it starts beeping and if i hit the start button, the red lid lock light comes on and just stays like that. Any help would be great as the washer is only 3 years old, and they want $125 plus parts for a guy to come out. Thanks

You probably have a blocked drain hose - the most common cause is a coin or a button but sweetie wrappers & paper are just as bothersome. Turn off the machine & unplug. Pull the machine forward so that you can access the rear. The drain hose is at the bottom of the rear of the machine and is held in place by a very strong spring-loaded clip or else a jubilee clip. This needs to be removed & will result in the water inside the machine & hose draining out so make sure you have plenty of containers & cloths/towels etc to catch & mop up. The blockage is usually located just inside the hose. Remove anything you find. Also check the hole on the machine where the hose attaches. Re-attach hose. Clean up, put machine back and switch on. Also check filter for clogging (see manual). Run machine on rinse & spin cycle. Hopefully that should do it. Good luck.
