Good Day - I have a Toyota Corolla GSX 2005. My key is old and taped together but has been working ok so far. Today, after returing from a 55km trip, I stopped the car at the bank atm to draw money. When I got back in to start it up, the engine would not turn but the all the dashboard lights and backlights started flashing rapidly and there was a similar buzzing (ticking) noise coming somewhere from the lefthand side of the dashboard - possibly the engine compartment. We then push-started the car. On the first attempt the engine took, but refused to build revs when the accelerator was pressed. On the second attempt, it did start and we managed to get the vehicle home. I let it idle a while before switching it off and when the cooling fan kicked in, the ABS light lit momentarily. I read somewhere in the motoring forums that faulty ignition keys can cause some or similar problems. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
