Flashing light and no power
On goes the saga of the Flashing light! I have dug and dug and found nothing. I want to get this thing out of here. I have replaced the horizontal output transistor Q473, which was a known problem with other similar sets. That didn't work. I've unplugged each of the CRT yokes individually and none of those are shorted. I've checked all of the voltages coming to and from the sub deflection board and they are all there. A few a a little low (a volt or two). Can anyone help me?

Yes they could definately cause a shutdown, thats a classic symptom for many rear projection TV models if the ICs simply fail the set will work but the alignment is out of control, and if the ICs short the set will shutdown into protective mode. On your model the ICs are mounted on the sub board so its better to just desolder the two ICs completely then try powering up the set with all wire connectors plugged in. If the set powers up with distorted convergence you will know the ICs are Bad. If it doesnt power up then the problem is elsewhere and you may need to replace the sub board.
