Flipshare won't install!!!
Hi, I just bought my Flip Ultra HD. I plugged it in to my computer to install Flipshare...but halfway during the install I got this message:
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A script required for this install to be complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
What could this mean? I have even tried downloading the program via theflip.com site. That gave me the same error.
I am using Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit.
My processor is an AMD Athlon X2 5600+ 2.8ghz.
Thank you. I hope this is solved soon! I really like my Flip and want it to work correctly!!

Hi,
The failure appears to be occurring because the installation script cannot obtain Scripting.FileSystemObject. This is most likely due to registrations belonging to your Windows ScrRun.dll being missing from your machine - and the problem may be specific to your machine configuration.
Click on the orb/start menu and type in the search box regsvr32.exe scrrun.dll
If the fix is successful try running the install again.
Regards.
It's real simple to solve this problem. I had the same issue and I all did was update my software online by visiting the FlipVideo website:
http://www.theflip.com/en-us/App/fvsw/5.x/update/
From there, all you need to do is fill out the three of four blank fields and it will update your software so it will install without a problem.
I used the Best Solution listed above and did in fact get FlipShare to install. I had to use both steps outlined. However, IE stopped working as a result of either the steps above or the installation of the FlipShare software....now I am trying to fix IE. I am running IE 8 on an XP machine with Office 2007 installed.
What are u talking about? Leecom72 first of all tell exactly how finding that file will help and what to do with it. (didnt find in the search)
i have the same exact problem and nobody is giving any logical answers.
When getting this error message, the other response below is correct, but there is no solution posted to fix. This is what to do:
Here is the solution. To get rid of programs that do not install correctly and are therefore not found in Add/Remove programs, use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility found herehttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
If you have problems installing that, like I did, and get a message that a library wasn't registered, download this to reinstall VBScript to fix the files needed to run the cleanup utility:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=C717D943-7E4B-4622-86EB-95A22B832CAA
