Floor fan I have a honeywell 3 speed with all of the extra features. All of a sudden the blade doesn't want to spin. If I keep turning it off and on and turn the blade I can eventually get it going, It will run all night untill I turn it off the next morning. Then to start it again I have to go throught the same process. Any ideas?
Dryers - Honeywell - HS165-19 Stand (Pedestal) Fan
Possibly pick up some canned air, (air under pressure) spray that into the electrical housing or windings (do this outside) and get as much dust out of the system as possible. That will hopefully fix the issue but if not, you can go to Home Depot and pick up a spray can of graphite. It used to come as a dry powder but I just found they sell it in a spray can. Not sure how it works, also read the directions to make sure you can spray it in the area where the blades attach to the housing. Some products may catch fire if it gets into the motor housing so read the can to make sure it's not flammable. Otherwise, you can get some powdered graphite and shake some in where the blades spin. It's rather messy but it is a dry lubricant. Good luck, maybe someone else has a better idea?
