Flotec Sump Pump Tethered Float - Float seems faulty. Easy fix?
We have a Flotec Sump w/ tethered float. The float goes up, flips up the thing, but the pump doesn't turn on. If you manually flip the thing, it goes on. Trying to find out if it's a faulty switch and if that is easy to replace. I am NOT handy in the LEAST.....Sadly, our pump runs A LOT, so I need a reliable one. It's only been installed 18 months or so....

I have the same problem. It's not the float but the switch. My float goes up but not with enough pressure to flick the switch. I am trying to find a fix for this now.
It sounds like it could be a bad float switch but most of the time the water isn't high enough for the pump to turn on. it takes alot of water to turn on a tethered float. the other pumps they sell at lowes with a real float (like the one in the toilet) are adjustable and also replicable. .
