FM output We have picked up our second XPress in a week, thinking the first one was defective, but it's something goofy. The FM signal output seems very weak. If you put your finger on the back of the XPress unit (the lower right side, where the serial sticker is), the output is great. Move your finger off it, and there's nothing. We've tried all the FM open frequencies in our area, but this happens on every one of them. Did we miss something in setup? Or did we get two defective Xpresses in a row. There is, BTW, a three-bar indicator on the satellite signal. And it's clear. Hi, I have the same problem - the XM signal is strong but the sound through the FM radio (in the car) has a lot of static - it doesn't matter what FM station we try. My other car which has a RoadyXT in it does NOT have these problems

Hi, The problem could be bad earthing as told by my fellow technicians. You can put an additional signal bosster antenna. As when you put you finger it amplifies the radio signal. If you have amplifier installed for your speakers . Try switching off the amp and try connectiing the speakers directly. Following is the Link for the antennas http://tinyurl.com/5rcznp
when u put a finger in the back of the unit it works fine beacuse it gets a good earthing from u resulting in making it able to catch the frequency strongly.that means u work as a antenna and earthing for ur unit which is causing a problem when u remove ur hand out.get ur antenna checked and some proper earthing for ue device. it will work properly for sure, nothing to worry about.thanks.
pls do rate the solution

The antenna connector plugs into the rear of the radio (the lower corner on the passenger side). The combination radio/8-track players have their antenna jack in the rear center. Check the condition of both the connector and coaxial cable, as both provide the antenna connection and a shield against electrical interference. They both need to be in good shape.

The low signal may be due to loose connection of the antenna cable
