FORD F150 2004 FX4
The overdrive light in the dash doesn't light up when I push the overdrive button on.I think the transmission is not shifting into overdrive because my gas mileage has decreased by 3.5miles to the gallon on the highway(was 17.5mi now 14.0mi) I'm thinking maybe the overdrive button is bad or the wires are disconnected.I would appreciate any advice,Thanks

Hi there , if the transmission is not shifting into overdrive, then the overdrive fuse had probably blown.
The fuse should be : Fuse # 29 5A Transmission overdrive control switch.
Check the fuse, and if the fuse is fine, check the overdrive wirings on the steering column.
Do not forget to leave me feedback on this, that is important for us.
Thanks.
Check uder the truck and make sure that the wires don't have any build up on or aroung them this could cause your problem. also make sure your transmission fluid level is good. and check the fuses under the hood of the truck there should be a tranmission fuse of some sort.
hope this helped
please rate well

Try to pull ur plugs and inspect for carbon build up on any of the plugs... If you find one or two, clean them up good, or replace them & test drive it... it will solve ur problem...
thank u!!
Check there might be some wire fault.
check all wires connected to light.
