Found my old HD (Western Digital WD1200JD) and decided to use it as a secondary to my much smaller HD. I've plugged in the SATA port, heard it turn on with its unique noise, and I've gone to see if it was detected. First, I checked my BIOS. It said no secondary slave something was detected... so that's when I went into windows to check "My Computer". No drive. I even unplugged my primary hard drive and booted up with the other one still plugged in, nothing. Not detected. So yeah...I really need help. Also, I've lost the manual

If you're hearing a clicking sound while the HD is on, there's nothing that we can do about it. That clicking noise is called the "click of death" for HD.
If there are files that you need to retrieve, you may need to bring the HD into some computer shops, and ask them if they are offering a data recovery service. Those computer shops that offers data recovery, we called them the "Data Recovery Centers".
Is that an external HD? Have you tried using different SATA cable? If not, try different cable first, or it would be better if you can connect the HD into different computer, and see if the other computer will detect the HD.
Please give me an update.
Thank you!
