Freecom 500gb external hard drive not working
Oh dear!! i have had this product for 2 weeks and backed up thousands of files on it. today i came to plug it in and waited for the box saying "open folder" etc. this didnt pop up so clicked on f drive in my computer and it says " this drive is not formatted" and of course if i do that i will lose EVERYTHING!!! i dont understand why it should do this all of a sudden. yes i always click on "remove hardware safely". we did have a power cut last night and not sure if it was plugged in at the time tho!! durrr!!

Try another computer, likely if it was plugged in though and was not protected with a surge protector its gone. Their are expensive services that might be able to retrieve it though, but that could cost hundreds to thousands of dollars.
Without being physically at the pc it's still going to very hard to diagnose it, try to find a family friend or someone who is well versed with computers to have a look. Or you might try a local repair shop.
