Fridge not cold enough, freezer ok
I have a Fisher Paykel upright fridge/freezer (non frost free) and noticed the fridge does not seem to cool enough but the freezer is fine.
According to my temperature reading the fridge reaches a max cool of 6.8deg and the freezer -18.0deg so the freezer is fine but not the fridge.
Thinking about this i am wondering if something could be wrong with the refrigeration side or not? The seal looks ok and i can hear the compressor going for long periods so it cant be a thermostat issue.
The fridge is 13yrs old.

Hi,
There could be many Reasons for the same. First i would stick with the Basic Steps :-
1. Do you hear any Click from Compressor when you ON the refrigerator? If yes, make sure that the Compressor should not shut OFF. Make sure it should not be too hot to lay eggs.
2. Make sure all the Fans are Working. Check the Condenser Fan. If that is fine, more likely the Condenser Motor is working as well.
3. Disconnect the Power Supply and Unplug the Cord. Take everything out of the Refrigerator. Keep the Doors Open for 24 hours. After 24 hours, plug in the Cord and then Turn ON the refrigerator. If you see that there is Some improvement, more likely you have faulty Defrost System.
4. Take a look at the Rear of the Freezer. Do you see any ICE? If yes, take a blower and melt the same. You would be able to see improvement.
5. How long you have cleaned the Coils? This is a Most Common Mistake that would lead to Less or No Cooling at all. Take a Vacuum and clean the Evaporator Coils to make sure it is Free from Dust and Debris.
6. If problem still persists, it could be Overload Relay. This is usually the main issue for Cooling Problems.
Procedure to Inspect,Test and Replace Overload Relay is as mentioned below :-

The above one is a Generic Procedure.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for your response!!
I do not think it is Freon or Gas Leak, as the Freezer is running Fine. You need to open the back to clean the Coil. Let me provide you with a Generic Video unless it could be Overload Relay as i mentioned.
