Fridgidare upright freezer running won't shut off automatically
My freezer was dripping water from under the door.. I went to u tube and did this : replaced the thermostat and defrost heater , the fan is working properly. The defroster was building up with frost and ice . Now I have turned it back on no more ice but the outside of the sides and top are getting really hot, the freezer is working it is at zero, it's been running now for about 9 hrs won't shut off. It got to zero in about 4 hrs. No ice buildup. I unplugged the unit afraid it might burn out the motor or fan.. Is this normal after restart? Or does it need a new control panel or a thermistor what ever that does... thanks for any input?

If it is full of food & you can't see the back this happened to us; see if the plastic striping that runs down the back corners got shoved down out of proper placement. It's suppose to seal like weather striping or caulk. It will cause the problems you're describing. Around the door too bottom as well. The inside of ours got smudged down & had no clue til I had to start removing the contents.
