Depending on the kind of noise, it could be a wheel bearing or a tire worn unevenly. An indicater of a bad steering rack usually includes hard or inconsistant steering. Look at your tire and see if it is cupped or worn more in some spots, if so there is probably a loose or worn bearing or tie rod end.
