Check fuel pump relay if it gets hot sometimes they pop than cool down an work normal also same with fuel pump next time it shuts down check for power to relay and relay if power and relay good try starting with starter fluid if starts change pump

Have a pressure check run on your fuel pump. Sounds like fuel pump is ready to totally fail. Just had this happen on my ford expedition. And that was painful changing out fuel pump. Took 4 hours and was a dirty job too
