Is it 2.5 or 3.0 ltr petrol? if so it is fitted with saddle type fuel tank which passes over the propshaft and has 2 fuel level sensors one each side and a jet pump to transfer fuel from one side to the other, sounds like you have problem inside the fuel tank the main fuel pump side of the tank may be drying out. rh side of tank i think. hope this helps/
