Furuno DFF1 Display is blank. The unit is blinking every 2 seconds (Working normally). I'm connecting the DFF1 to the 1734C by an Ethernet switch. The display appears as a blank field with depth numbers displayed along the left side, and soft keys on the right, but no returns. There is also a color bar on the left side (rainbow). The manual doesn't seem to help

Check the MODE switch
The MODE switch provides the functions described in the table below. Remove the rubber cap to access the switch and set switches with a plastic screwdriver or the like.
1 and 4 on/// 2 and 3 off.
As you mentioned that light is flashing every 2 seconds.This is normal.but if there is no display and light is flashing every two seconds that means the connection problem. sounder is not connected to navnet.Check the connection between sounder and navnet.Remove and reconnect the connection.Clean the connection then connect and check.

problem can be solved.Inside the marine electronic device, there is a flex that connects the display board to the main board of the device. The flex determines the display on the screen.
The flex inside is weak that's why the display is blank and sometimes blinks.
You will need to replace it for it to be able to display normal display.
After replacing the flex, the display will become normal again.

Hi, this is not a setup issue, you have a faulty LCD screen which is going bad gradually. That's why the display appears as a blank field with depth numbers displayed along the left side which is not suppose to be so and as time goes on the entire screen will be blank. You have to change the LCD screen as soon as possible..

If that were the case, then the other functions would not display properly, such as Radar and Plotter. They display fine. The problem is not the LCD.

On preliminary it seems that there is a software problem. Update your Gadget's software. If then also problem persist then there is a hardware problem get it serviced....
That's pretty general.
The DFF1 has no software. The 1734C has built-in Setup software; are you suggesting this could be a Setup issue. If so, I guess I need to talk to an expert who is familiar with the setup of this particular piece of equipment.
