No Dis-respect intended here but have you tryed the bulbs ? I know it is most unlikely they both blow at the same time.....One might not of worked for a while and you haven't noticed! only when the outher one blew you noticed! Have done it my self also being an autoelectrician for 35 years I have seen this all too often!
If not short the switch wires and follow the feed with a 12v test light, probbably a crappy connestion through a plug. thats the ushual thing you will soon find it with a test light! remember allways go for the easeyeast,cheapest and quickest solution first! as I say just chesk the bulbs first before you start how long will that take eh? took me a few years to learn to go for simple first... and ushally pays off too!
