Fuse blows found bad parts on the board
Hi, My alesis M1 Active MK2 Monitor went out on me.. The fuse blows when I replace it. After a closer look I found U-1 whit a hole burned in it, R=11 burned mildly, Q-3 blown open, Q--4 cracked, D-16 burned, and also Q-1 with a hole burned in it. I found these by looking at the board with a jewelers loupe. Does anyone know if the transformer (T-1} might be bad too? Or anything else for that matter that may have been over looked? I live overseas where there are no repair shops. I'd like to fix this monitor my self if at all possible, other wise I will throw it away.
I need help crossing over the numbers on the parts too, I went to didi key . com and got really confused... some of the parts are not even recognized there.
I think I can do this job if I can just get all the appropiate part numbers and the names of the parts so that I can order them.
Thanks so much,
Tim

Hi, Email Alesis and ask very nicely and they might email you a copy of the schematics, which also has the parts listed, etc.
I had the problem of the blinking LED's a few years back, really odd, and fixed it, and now I do a search and all I can find is people with the same problem or similar. Depending on how bad the damage is, it should be repairable unless its done extensive damage to the PCB board. PCB boards are still available to buy, dont bin it, they are too good to be binned ;)
