G1 "depleted" battery, won't charge, stays in 0%. &"blank"SD prob
HELPPPP!! A day ago, I was using pandora at the gym and all of a sudden the app froze, had to exit out and restart the phone. When i went to turn it back on, it wouldn't turn on! I then noticed the red blinking light, figured pandora used up the remaining 40%? of battery life left so i plugged it in to charge. Left it charging for about 15 minutes or so, took it off the charger and it shut down!! Keep in mind I lost my g1 about a week before so this is a brand new, I'm assuming refurbished, phone from Asurion. So I called t-mobile to figure out what was wrong and the lady told me the battery had been depleted and I had to let it charge for at least 4 hours without any interruption. I put it to charge at 7pm, left it over night, woke up this morning at around 1130 to see the battery was now charging but the home and call keys weren't working now. The phone was on the charger for 16 hours now. I figured if I turned it off and turned it back on the battery would remain and it would get the home and call key working. But what it did was kill the battery again and bring it back down to the 0%!!!! Also, it says my "SD is blank or has unsupported filesystem", when it's really not blank!! It also won't let me take pictures. Idk if this is a refurbished phone problem or if it's the battery thing. What to doooo, PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Hi,
I am Sorry to Hear this Problem. This could actually be Both. So, what you need to do, Borrow another Battery for the same Model from a Friend, Neighbor and Swap it. If the Problem would be Fixed, this is a Battery Problem Unless it is a Phone Problem.
Usually these Problems are Firmware Related Problems. I don't think, Upgrade is Available for this Model online. Usually if that is Battery related, it would never tell you SD is blank. SD Is blank while it is not is an Indication that Firmware is not working Well.
Let me know, if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
Sometimes the battery goes. In your case too it seems that the battery has gone maybe due to Pandora or whatever you used. One should not use the third party programs as they can do anything to your phone and they do warn you before they get installed and we never worry about them that time as we are more interested in the program then. So, get yourself a new battery and recharge it fully before using it. Till the phone tells you that the battery is full. Then you must reinstall the firmware if the problem persists. HAPPY HOLIDAYS
Hi
I'll start from the SD card, either its in a format that doesn't work with the phone or the reader in your phone is faulty.
I'd suggest you find another sd card of any size, and try it on your G1, if it doesn't try formatting it, on the phone or with the computer on a card reader, make sure the filesystem is set to FAT or FAT32
Now if after formatting the card to the right filesystem it works on the phone, then the issue is that your sd card is in the wrong format, copy all the files from it to your computer and then format it to the format that worked with the other card and put your stuff back in there.
Now for the charging and the phone, I have a HTC universal, similar phone, its charged with a usb cable, is yours the same? use a short usb cable, if you use a long one it won't charge properly. Reset the phone and plug it to the charger, it should be 100% within a hour or two.
If that does not happen then most likely the battery is bad. Can you try another one? or take it to your dealer and let them try it out so you don't have to spend money on another battery.
Now if with another battery and with another charger if this doesn't use a USB to charge, then the phone would be faulty and in need of repair, I would contact your dealer and get another one.
