Gaggenau EB 194 Double Oven fuse blowing
We have an electric Gaggenau double convection oven that is sporatically blowing the internal 20A micro fuse. It has now happend 4 times in the 18 months we have lived in the house.
The last time it happened, Dec '08, the repair guy replaced the small circut board that holds the two fuses, one for the top oven and one for the bottom. He replace it because it was visable that it had either shorted or was damaged when the fuse blew. He can find no other source of a short. So far, it is only the top oven that has blown, but we never use the bottom oven, except when the top oven isn't working.
The fuse has never blown while the oven is in use. We notice it only when we go to turn it on and it doesn't work. So unless something is happening while the oven is off, it must blow instantaneously when the oven is turned on. It is a static envionment, so there is really no other variable that I can think of. The oven is used on average 3-4X a week and has gone as long as 6 months without a problem...and as little as 2 months. This time it was almost 4 months.
Before I call the repair guy out again to replace the fuse at $120, any ideas on what may be causing this? It is frustrating and expensive. We only have one Gaggenau repair guy in our area and I think he too knows he is only solving the symptom. Suggestions welcome! Thanks in advance.

From your description, it seems the little fuse is overheating sometimes, a short is a short and an immidiate fuse blower. i would use a higher amperage fuse, 30 amps. any electronic tech can replace this, doesnt have to be your Gaggenau guy, as it seems to me hes made a regular income of this
