Oven will not heat unless timer is employed...then, heating is irregular; sometimes staying on high, and other times not heating at all. We removed the sideplate and disconnected the temperature probe, finding a burn mark on the box to which it was connected. Upon opening that box, we found a thin metal band burned through. Then we bypassed the box altogether, taping together both wires that went to it, thinking that perhaps we'd get heat; but that didn't happen. Can you shed any light on what might be the problem?
