Galaxy 99v off Frequency
Galaxy 99v when you first turn on it's ok but trans and recieve start to spread off frequency. Example 27.165 I can transmit out ok but to recieve i have to go to 27.159. This is the first time I have seen this. Oh and some times it just shoots on down to 24.425 sll by itself and stays there for a while. Any ideas would help. Thank you

The crystal could be bad but the one thing is a crystal is either good or bad, nothing in between. Change it but be careful not to break it.Before you change it check the solder points and make sure they are good ,then with a vom meter check to make sure there is continuity .Then hook up a frequency counter to make sure its on the correct frequency. If your answer is good then its something else . I have a cobra 29 on my bench thats doing the same thing ,monitor on one channel transmit on another. I checked it out completely and can find nothing wrong with it yet when I put it in my auto to check if it was off I had to go to another channel to talk but I have done nothing to it other that check solder joints and it is now working great. So maybe if you do this it will bring it back If not satisfied you may may think about taking it to a tech . Check the obvious first then take it to a tech if necessary. Good luck.
